Sprouts contain alfalfa sprouts and radish sprouts.
Alfalfa sprouts are one of our finest food sources of saponins.
Saponins lower the bad cholesterol and fat but not the good HDL
fats. In animal studies saponins prove their benefit in arteriosclerosis
and cardiovascular disease, they stimulate the immune system by
increasing the activity of natural killer cells such as T- lymphocytes
and interferon. Sprouts also contain an abundance of highly active
antioxidants that prevent DNA destruction and protect us from the
ongoing effects of aging.
Alfalfa sprouts have more chlorophyll than spinach, kale, cabbage
or parsley. Alfalfa sprouts are 4% protein and contain concentrated
amounts of phytochemicals (plant compounds) that can protect us
against disease.
Canavanine, an amino acid analog, demonstrates resistance to pancreatic,
colon and leukemia cancers. The plant estrogens in these sprouts
function similarly to human estrogen but without the side effects.
They increase bone formation and density and prevent bone breakdown
(osteoporosis). They are helpful in controlling hot flashes, menopause,
PMS and fibrocystic breasts tumors.
Alfalfa dries dampness, it is a diuretic and an appetizer, it benefits
the urinary system and intestines, and also detoxifies the body.
Alfalfa cleans and tones the intestines and takes harmful acids
out of the blood. Alfalfa can be used for the treatment of arthritis,
edema, weight loss, bladder stones, plantar warts, chronic sore
throat, fevers, gas pains, peptic ulcers, drug and alcohol addiction
recovery. Alfalfa contains: protein, carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium,
potassium, phosphorus, sodium, sulfar, silicon, chlorine, cobalt,
zinc, Vitamins K & P and chlorophyll.
Radish sprouts are 4% protein, have 29 times more Vitamin C than
milk, 4 times the Vitamin A than milk, 10 times more calcium than
a potato and contain more vitamin C than pineapple. They contain
concentrated amounts of phytochemicals (plant compounds) that can
protect us against disease. Plant estrogens in these sprouts function
similarly to human estrogen but without the side effects. They increase
bone formation and density and prevent bone breakdown (osteoporosis).
They are helpful in controlling hot flashes, menopause, PMS and
fibrocystic breasts tumors.
Radish sprouts moistens the lungs, cuts mucus, removes food stagnation,
and detoxifies the body. Regular use of radish will help prevent
viral infections such as a cold or the flu. They are frequently
used to clear sinuses, hoarseness, phlegm, sore throats, indigestion,
abdominal swelling, removing toxins, gallstones, kidney stones and
bladder stones. Radish contains: Vitamins C & A, calcium, and
protein.
